Leading Hong Kong and Pearl River Delta IT trade and professional organizations together with individuals including Mr. Daniel Lai, Mr. Richard Li, Dr. C.K. Wong announced establishment of the PRD IT Cooperation and Exchange Center, which aimed to foster the development of the IT industry

In response to and support of the 11-5 National Plan and HKSAR Digital 21 IT Strategy for proactive IT development and application, a group of prominent IT leaders in conjunction with IT trade and professional bodies from Hong Kong and Pearl River Delta jointly announced the establishment of the Hong Kong–Pearl River Delta IT Co-operation and Exchange Center (HK-PRD ITCEC) on 5 December 2006 (Tuesday). The Launch Ceremony was held on 5 December 2006 at the Center which is located at Southern Software Park in the City of Zhuhai and attended by Mr. Qiu Shi, Director of Zhuhai Bureau of Technology, Mr. Richard Li, the initiating parties and representatives from supporting and founding organizations. At the launch ceremony, a Declaration was jointly signed by the initiating and supporting parties together with over ten founding organizations.

Aims and Commitment
Create a favorable cooperation environment for both the information industry and the relevant employees, and also provide a convenient, effective platform for technology exchange and business cooperation, between Hong Kong and PRD Region, by fully utilizing and integrating respective resources.

  • Monitor developments and trends related to information technology and industry in the region and internationally, provide a wide range of information related to technology, business, career, government policies, etc.

  • Organize information technology related workshops and business exchange forums.

  • Arrange study mission, organize information technology- related trainings.

  • Seek for potential distinctive industrial projects and outstanding software talents.

  • Conduct surveys and market research on information industry related topics and share results among members.

  • Represent the view of members and reflect them to appropriate authorities.
